Empowering Young Minds for a Brighter TomorrowEducational Philosophy
We believe that true education goes far beyond the memorisation of facts. At Orion, our classrooms are spaces of genuine engagement — where questions are encouraged, thinking is celebrated, and every child is given the space to grow at their own pace.
Our faculty brings both subject expertise and personal warmth to their teaching. They do not merely deliver lessons; they build relationships with students, understand individual learning needs, and ensure that no child is left behind. Academic rigour and personal care are not opposites here — they go hand in hand.
We hold high standards in all curricular areas, but we equally invest in values, discipline, and character. Because we firmly believe that what a student becomes as a person matters just as much as what they score on a paper.
Curriculum Subjects
Our curriculum is comprehensive, age-appropriate, and designed to give students a well-rounded intellectual foundation from their very first years of schooling. The following subjects are taught systematically across all classes:
From Nursery through the senior classes, the depth and complexity of each subject grows progressively — always matched precisely to the developmental stage and cognitive readiness of the students.
School Timings & Schedules
We follow a structured daily schedule that balances focused academic learning with adequate time for rest, recreation, and co-curricular engagement.
| Class Level | School Operating Hours |
|---|---|
| Nursery, LKG & UKG | 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM |
| Class I onwards | 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM |
| Saturday (All classes) | 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM |
| Every Second Saturday | Institutional Holiday |
⏰ Assembly Notice: Morning Assembly begins at 8:45 AM every single day. All students are expected to be present on school premises before 8:45 AM. Punctuality is not just a rule here — it is a habit we build for life.
Assessment & Promotion Policy
Our assessment framework is continuous, comprehensive, and designed to give a true and complete picture of each student's progress — not just at the end of the year, but throughout it.
Structure of Assessments
- 2 Summative Assessments: Formal comprehensive examinations systematically held at the conclusion of each term.
- 4 Formative Assessments: Periodic in-class evaluations and tests strategically spread across the active academic year.
- Regular Class Tests: Evaluative pop quizzes and checkpoint assignments conducted consistently throughout the active session.
This multi-layered approach ensures that no single examination defines a child's performance. Progress is tracked consistently, and early intervention is possible wherever needed.
Promotion & Attendance Policy
- Attendance Benchmark: Students must maintain a minimum of 55% attendance to be eligible to appear in examinations. Regular attendance is critical to a child's overall growth and sense of community belonging.
- Promotion Policy: Advancement to the next class is based on collective overall performance across all subjects. A student who fails in any of the major core subjects will not be eligible for promotion.
- Double Failure Rule: Students who fail the same class level twice will be counselled and may be asked to seek admission elsewhere.
⚠️ Finality Clause: There are absolutely no re-examinations. Results declared at the end of the academic year are ultimate and final. We strongly encourage parents to remain engaged with their child's progress throughout the year, so that there are no surprises when final results are declared.
Language of Instruction
English is the sole medium of instruction and general communication at Orion International School. This is a deliberate and considered choice — one that reflects our commitment to equipping every single student with the complete fluency, global confidence, and professional communication skills that will serve them in whichever field they choose to pursue.
All students are expected to speak English within the school premises at all times. The use of any other language or dialect inside the school bounds is subject to disciplinary action. We frame this not as a rigid restriction, but as an opportunity — immersive daily practice is the most effective path to true fluency.
